NEW EASA UAS / DRONE REGULATIONS 2021

DR 2019/945 | IR 2019/947
- FULLY UPDATED -

DroneEU

The new EASA-UAS / drone regulations aims to standardize the different rules of the Member States and regulate civilian use of UAS / drones regardless of size or weight.

In this way, it will be possible to provide one common regulatory framework, which covers all possible operational scenarios and which is in line with current technological realities.

As we will see below, the new EASA-UAS / drone regulations imply significant differences with the current Danish rules, especially with regard to the requirements for training / education of drone pilots, the process of registering new operators and the technical functions that the aircraft must have in order to achieve EC certification.

WHO IS COVERED BY THE NEW EASA DRONE REGULATIONS 2021?

EASA has indicated that the new European regulatory framework applies to all UAS (unmanned aircraft systems), whether they are autonomous or remote controlled, and regardless of their mass or use.

It should be noted that UAS used in military operations, search and rescue, police, customs and border control, firefighters, coastguards and other security forces and various authorities is exempt from the new European legislation.
